Do you remember that geek from your class who used to study a night before exams yet top the list? Err! We all envy that fellow. And poor you who prepared for months together to get there! Or maybe you’ve also tried to teach yourself how to retain everything inside that tiny whiny head, but, time and again, you’ve failed miserably.

You might even have thought to yourself…

Why is recollecting so hard? Why does everything feel like a jumbled mess? Why don’t I get this? Is there something wrong with me?

Ahhhh! All you feel is frustration as you realize that standard note taking is not the most effective way to memorize and understand things

Folks, here it is! The Secret Formula for Learning with the snap of a finger

Any guesses? Ever heard of Mind Mapping?

This one technique can 10X your memory and learning ability. Not even kidding!

What is Mind Mapping?

It is a diagram used to generate, visualize, classify, and structure ideas for organization, problem-solving, decision making, and study. It is primarily a map type diagram representing ideas, tasks, and words linked to a central key phrase or image. To put it simply, just as we make notes by writing paragraphs, why not use your creative bug and create a MAP of your study content. Instead of forming long sentences that you never remember, use short keywords, shapes, colors, and creative skills.

Mind Map is like a brain cell on paper, with multiple tributaries that radiate outwards from a central point.

It’s kind of like how rivers flow from lakes out into the oceans. Yeah, now you got an idea about it?

Mind mapping seamlessly blends logic and creative thought to help us think more proficiently and effectively about our learning.

How do you mindmap?

  • Start in the middle of your paper and write your topic, and circle it.
  • Then, without thinking too hard or deeply — start branching out.
  • Add categories and sub-categories as you go, mapping everything out.
  • Use the page freely — it doesn’t have to be perfectly neat and tidy!
  • Don’t worry too much about putting things in the exact correct position — as you go on, patterns will begin to emerge, and sequential thoughts will become apparent.

Let me show you the Visuals of Mind Map:

Ahha! Now you are all ready to create your own Mind Maps and beat that nerd you envy.

Quick Fact:

Science has shown time and again that the brain is most likely to recall information that is vivid, bright, colorful, and clear. The mind also naturally enjoys thinking in pictures and colors.

So what are you doing here still reading? Oh, do I hear the Artist shouting inside you? Go get it out on the paper

Even the greatest explorers who were about to change history didn’t know what they were going to find on their voyages. Who knows what you could achieve unless you explore? Try Mind mapping to explore your ideas. And be amazed by the power of your little brains!
