Hello learners. Let’s face an unpleasant reality. Until fall of 2020 most colleges are going to be all online classes.

From the outside looking in, online classes seem to be the easiest way to snag an A in college. While online classes do have the tendency to be easier than physical classes, they can quickly turn into a nightmare if you approach them the wrong way.

Some may love online classes, and some may absolutely dread them.

Online classes don’t have to be horrible, and there are actually some amazing benefits. For some this will be an easy transition but for others it’s going to be really difficult.

If you want to know the benefits of online classes or some tips on how to survive an online class, definitely keep on reading!

  • Don’t let yourself believe it’s “just an online class”

Don’t take an online class with a nonchalant attitude. Don’t ever assume a class is going to be easy because it’s online. First of, change your attitude towards these classes. Be an active listener.

  • Create a good study space

Find a place where you can concentrate and get your work done!

(Hint: certainly not your bed)

Find the environment you thrive best in, it may be your campus library, a coffee shop, even your kitchen table.

  • Actually read the material

I know, I know textbooks can be such a bore. But not all professors will send pre-recorded lectures or PowerPoints. With online classes, it’s your responsibility to learn.

Don’t feel defeated if you don’t understand the material. Use your resources, take a breath and try again.

  • Participate in your class

It’s incredibly easy to kind of “drift away” during an online lecture so participating in the question asking/answering will help keep you engaged and focused. Being in the teachers good books are of course, perks of participation!

If you need help, ask! Reach out to your professors, they are there for your disposal. Ask them questions.

  • Keep up the motivation

It is clearly easier to keep up with the Kardashians! But come on, don’t let your motivation dry out. Don’t give up on homeschooling just yet!

Take study breaks. Don’t let your brain burn out from working on school work.

Reward yourself for the work you do. When you turn in an assignment then allow yourself an episode of your favorite show.

Online classes can be totally different from in-person but if you stay focused and work hard you can still learn and get good grades!

If you feel the slightest drop in your motivation, come back and read this blog. You got this!
